The Motlow College Foundation will host the 27th annual Motlow Gala on Saturday, Mar. 9, at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center. Festivities will begin with a champagne social hour at 5:30 p.m., during which guests can peruse donated silent auction items; dinner will be served at 6:30. The Foundation will also host a Gala Preview Cocktail party on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Proceeds from both events help the Motlow College Foundation provide financial assistance to Motlow students.

Even with tuition-free learning provided by Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect, many of our students still need anywhere from moderate-to-significant financial assistance to be successful.

“Through this annual event, our biggest fundraiser, we are raising money to help Motlow students with educational expenses,” said Lane Yoder, Foundation executive director. “Even with tuition-free learning provided by Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect, many of our students still need anywhere from moderate-to-significant financial assistance to be successful. We spend literally thousands of dollars every semester helping students purchase their required books.”

The theme for this year’s event is “Fire and Ice.” Providing entertainment will be the popular Nashville-based band, Burning Las Vegas, returning for their second year. “Burning Las Vegas will have everyone up and dancing the night away,” added Yoder. “They put on a fantastic show!” Dancing will begin at 8:15 p.m. and follows a brief program and fast-paced auction.

Jack Daniel Distillery and SmartBank return this year as Gala sponsors.

Also returning will be the Gala Preview Cocktail Party, on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the home of Motlow College Foundation Trustee Lisa Henry and her husband Jim, who live in Tullahoma. “The idea behind the Gala Preview Party is to elevate the excitement about the Motlow Gala by having a type of reveal party for the collection of live auction items that have been so graciously donated by area businesses and individuals,” stated Yoder. Drinks, a cocktail buffet, and live music by area musicians will be provided.

Important to note is that Mr. and Miss Motlow from the four Motlow campuses will be participating in both the Gala as well as the Preview Party, allowing guests to have an opportunity to interact with students.

Tickets to the Gala Preview Party are $50 per person, and tickets to the Motlow Gala are $125 per person. The deadline to purchase tickets for the preview party is Feb. 15, and the deadline to purchase tickets for the gala is March 1. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Motlow College Foundation office at 931-393-1543.
