Motlow College Foundation receives generous support

Citizens Bank of Sparta recently presented Motlow College Foundation with a check for $20,000 raised from a golf tournament in June held at Sparta Country Club. Motlow College Foundation recently received substantial gifts from multiple sources in support of Motlow State and its students.

Lane Yoder, executive director of the foundation, shared good news about gifts and donations received in the Foundation office in the last few weeks. “We just want to let people know of the tremendous community support Motlow continues to receive,” said Yoder. “and, we say ‘thank you’ to all Motlow supporters for being great ambassadors of education at Motlow State.”

Recent gifts include:

• $12,500 from the City of La Vergne in support of the Smyrna third building

• Two gifts to the Foundation from retired Motlow faculty members John and Martha Scarbrough. One of the gifts will be used to start the Scarbrough Veterans’ Assistance Program to provide financial assistance for veterans enrolled at any Motlow campus. The second gift will be used to meet the need for completing Smyrna Building 3.

• $20,000 that was raised through the efforts of Citizens Bank and community members in Sparta who participated in the 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the Motlow Sparta Teaching Site.
